Local Government COVID-19 Update

NAIOP Tampa Bay Members,

As local governments across our area are responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, several have cancelled or postponed public government meetings. Below is a quick synopsis of those changes as of March 17, 2020. Please keep in mind that updates are changing rapidly, and we should all heed their suggested and requested recommendations. 

  • Hillsborough County has postponed all County Commission Meetings, Subcommittee Meetings, Land Use & Zoning Hearings until at least April 13, 2020. They have also taken the extra precaution of prohibiting individuals from waiting in their lobby unless you have a previously scheduled meeting. 
  • Tampa City Council has cancelled all public meetings until April 16, 2020 including quasi-judicial public hearings. In the event any required cancellations extend City Council’s approval or denial on an application beyond 180 days of the applicant submitting their application to the zoning administrator, such extension of time is due to the extenuating circumstances as noted in Mayor Castor's Executive Order.
  • Pasco County has cancelled all public meetings until March 29, 2020. Planning and Development/Current Planning will begin implementing Online Submittals ONLY. Please upload all of your project information in Accela as you currently do. All payments are to be made online via ACA (e-check or credit card). No deferrals are considered at this time and no in-person transactions. Your projects will continue to be reviewed-status quo.
